Welcome Abby & Ella!

We are so pleased to announce the birth of our baby girls...Abigail Grace and Eleanor Brooke! They are just beautiful and we are so happy! Because they are preemies (born at 30 weeks) they will be in the NICU for a while. Everyday there is new progress to report. Because so many people love our girls, we are starting this blog so that our family and friends can check in on their progress. The blog will be going private, so be looking for your invitation to join.

The girls were born on Sunday, December 12. Abby arrived at 5:31 p.m. weighing in at 2 lbs 14 oz. She is 14 1/2 inches long. Ella followed two minutes later and weighed in at 3 lbs 3 oz. and is 15 1/2 inches long.

Right away, Abby took the lead and didn't need any oxygen, other than room air. Ella had to be put on a C-pap but is now down to the nose tube. Both have already had jaundice come and go! The nurses and the neonatalogist we spoke with today all rave about their progress. They have said that they would probably be in until February, but we are optimistic that it may be sooner. I will try to post daily, between spending time at the NICU and taking care of the rest of the family. Please check back often...and please keep on praying for our precious angels. What This Blog is All About

Hi Everyone! We set up this blog so we could chronicle our twin girls lives in the NICU. They were born 10 weeks premature and have much to do before they can come home (mostly sleep, eat and grow!) . We love our Abby and Ella so much! We are usually at the hospital a couple of times a day, so it is hard to return all the many wonderful texts, phone calls and inquiries. We thought this would be a great way to keep friends and family informed and when the happy happy day comes that we can bring them home, we will discontinue it and turn it into a blog book for the girls. I want them to always remember the strong determined little ladies that they are. I am so proud of my daughters and we are so incredibly blessed to have them in our lives!!!

-Abigail and Eleanor were born 12/12/10 at 5:30 in the afternoon. Abby was 2 lbs 14 oz, Ella 3 lbs 3 oz.

-We do not have an approximate date that they will come home. We are told their due date, February 16, but we feel certain that they will be home before that.

-It took 2 failed in vitro attempts, numerous failed inseminations, a successful adoption of our ADORABLE 4 year old son, a failed adoption, successful treatment and lots of prayers and tears to get these girls here. My children were 9 years in the making! Our hearts are filled with gratitude as we look forward to an amazing future!!!
